About SAITO:

DOWNFALL is the first album under the name SAITO created by Lena Saito, aka Galcid, and produced by accomplished analog synthesizer guru, Hisashi Saito, aka Lena’s husband.

Having descended from a long line of Japanese sword-smiths, the industrial sound of smashing steel is embedded in Lena’s DNA and reflected in her music, however there are also refined, hypnotic tones showing a side with more finesse.

The music itself is not scored and is predominantly improvised.

Words and vocals are ad libbed as well.

Sometimes the machines respond as if through telekinesis, altogether emitting a sound which can be categorized somewhere in the range between modern experimental dance music and something possibly making more sense to enlightened minds a thousand years in the future.

古来からの伝統をもつ日本の刀鍛冶屋に生まれたgalcidのlenaと、長年に渡り彼女のプロデュースワークを手掛けてきた齋藤久師Hisashi Saitoが、遂に同じアーティスト目線で共作したユニット「saito」による本作は、過去のgalcidのどの作品にも当てはまらないヒプノティックな作用と、攻撃性を内包している。

この作品は全て電子楽器による即興で行われており、能動的な電子音を存分に味わう事ができるだろう。

「saito」の2人は譜面どころか、言葉も使わずに、めくるめく電子リズムを繰り出すためにテレキネシスを使用している。

いわば、東洋人に古くから伝わる「禅」を使い電子音を縦横無尽に操るのだ。

「saito」のサウンドをカテゴライズする事はとても難しいが、あえて表現するならば実験要素を意欲的に取り入れたダンスミュージックと言えるだろう。

この変形した電子音楽は世界でも唯一無二の最前衛アルバムとして完成した完全なる1000年先の未来の音楽である。
